Should you be worried about taking ibuprofen or acetaminophen for soreness after a good workout or training session? Yes. After all, they’re drugs and some studies show that when used for this purpose they aren’t even effective.
Here’s how to beat the pain naturally:
Instead of the drugs, try taking 2 vitamin E capsules and drink some black tea. Vitamin E reduces inflammation naturally and the black tea reduces muscle soreness.
Now you can train a little harder and recover more quickly…naturally. And isn’t that what we all want to accomplish?
Ibuprofen and acetaminophen are classified as NSAIDS (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) and aren’t good for your kidneys in the long run. As always, check with your doctor about using vitamin supplements.

I will have to try this! Thanks for the tip.
My suggestion is to use real vitamin E 400 IU. That’s d-alpha-tocopherol with mixed tocopherols not the synthetic. There IS a difference biochemically.
Good post! I’d also add –make sure you have good sneakers. If they are old or improperly fitted then that could be the cause of some pain that is easily eliminated.
Shoes may be the most important piece of training equipment that people own.
I just deal with the soreness. A good stretching usually works wonders for me.
Stretching may help, but it could produce even more inflammation in some people. Bottom line: If it works for you, keep it up. Thanks
